RALEIGH -- Sarah Lynn Joyner of Raleigh and Gradon Quinn Davis of Charlotte were united in marriage Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. G. Jeffery Roberts officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dock Joyner Jr. of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Hilda Stevens Whitley and the late William Henry Whitley of Wilson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dock Joyner of Farmville. She graduated from Sanderson High School and received a bachelor's degree in mathematics and chemistry from Meredith College. She received a master's degree in computational mathematics from North Carolina State University. Beginning Aug. 18, she will be employed by Accenture as a systems integration and technology analyst.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Edward Davis of Raleigh. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Britt Holder of Kinston and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Earl Davis of Seven Springs. He graduated from Sanderson High School and received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from N.C. State University. He is employed by Duke Energy as an engineer.

Escorted by her father, the bride chose for her wedding a strapless gown of ivory silk-satin organza and Alencon lace by Lazaro. The dress had an A-line skirt and featured a sash at the waist and a chapel-length train.

She wore a single layer fingertip-length ivory veil with a wide ivory satin ribbon edge and carried a bouquet of roses, orchids, freesia, and sweet peas in creams, pale yellows, and greens.

Matron of honor was Heidi Marie Loveall of McCleary, Wash.

Bridemaids were Kristina Marie D'Andrea of Raleigh, Michelle Elaine Little of Graham, Kayla Marie Mathis of Raleigh, and Jennifer Marie Niland of Mount Airy. They wore cypress green tea-length taffeta dresses with shirred bodices, empire waists, and bubble skirts.

Best man for the ceremony was Edward Britt Davis of Virginia Beach, Va., the bridegroom's brother.

Groomsmen were Timothy Aaron Howard of Raleigh; David Lee Joyner of Raleigh, the bride's brother; Joseph Andrew Joyner of Raleigh, the bride's brother; and David Robert Robinson of Raleigh.

Celia Elizabeth Whitley and Meredith Berly Whitley of Wilmington, cousins of the bride, were register attendants.

Megan Clarke Mobley of Stanford, Calif., and Erin Munroe Clarke of Raleigh were program attendants.

Patra Payseur directed the wedding.

Wedding music was provided by organist the Rev. Wayne Rogers, pianist Ramona Greene, and vocalists Ward Davis and Jennie Niland.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Capital City Club in Raleigh. Hosts were the bride's parents.

On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the bridegroom hosted a rehearsal party at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary.

Earlier in the day, a bridal lunch was held at Caffe Luna in Raleigh. Hosts were the bride's aunts and grandmother.

On the day of the ceremony, friends of the bridegroom's family held a wedding day brunch at The University Club in Raleigh.

Following their return from a honeymoon at Petit St. Vincent Resort in The Grenadines, the couple will reside in Charlotte.

* April 12 -- A bridal shower was hosted by the matron of honor and bridesmaids.

* April 20 -- Friends of the bridegroom's family hosted a tool and garden shower.

* April 26 -- An engagement party was hosted by neighborhood friends of the bridegroom's parents.

* April 30 -- Friends of the bride's family hosted a kitchen and recipe shower.

* May 17 -- A pig pickin' and shower was hosted by the bridegroom's aunts.

* June 13 -- The bridesmaids hosted a bachelorette party.
