Lindsay Erin Hicks and Brian Christopher Joyce were married on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 3 in the afternoon at Hope Lutheran Church. The reception followed at The Sutherland in Wake Forest.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Steffel of Wake Forest, along with Mr. and Mrs. James Hicks of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty Brewer of Wake Forest, and the late Mr. Thomas Brewer and Mrs. Yvonne Hicks of Raleigh and the late Mr. William Hicks. The bride is a graduate of Wake Forest High School and the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a B.S. in education and psychology. She is employed as an elementary school teacher in the Wake County Public School System.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Joyce of Cary. He is the grandson of Mrs. Beverly Ports, formerly of Charlottesville, Virginia, now of Cary, and the late Mr. Jack Ports and Mr. Leon Joyce and the late Mrs. Erie Joyce of Collinsville, Virginia. He is a graduate of Greenfield School in Wilson and the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a B.S in finance and marketing. He is employed as an Assistant Golf Professional at Heritage Golf Club.

Miss Brittany Lauren Hicks of Wake Forest, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor.

The bridesmaids were Mrs. Amanda Wilson Brown of Rural Hall; Miss Erin Elizabeth Fagan of Charlotte; Miss Rebecca Paige Pearson of Raleigh; Miss Tara Rose Stifler of Chapel Hill; and Mrs. Crystal Margaret Tattersall of Durham.

Mr. Steven Leon Joyce, father of the groom, served as the best man.

The groomsmen were Mr. Kevin Andrew Joyce of Gainesville, Fla., brother of the groom; Mr. Derek Justin Brown of Rural Hall; Mr. Christopher John Colomb of Columbia, S.C.; Mr. William Joseph Shambley of Cary; and Mr. Joseph Raymond Dail Warenda of Raleigh.

The greeters were Miss Katie Jean Brewer and Miss Lauren Mary Brewer of High Point.

The book attendant was Miss Anna Dale Hicks of Raleigh.

Miss Bailey Anne Barefoot and Miss Blair Mayo Barefoot served as the flower girls.

Mr. Bradley Grimes Barefoot served as the ring bearer all of Wilmington.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at Second Empire in downtown Raleigh on Friday, Oct. 23. A bridesmaid's luncheon was held on Oct. 23 at the home of the bride. A groomsmen's golf outing was held on Oct. 23 at Heritage Golf Club in Wake Forest.

After a honeymoon to the Hawaiian island of Kauai, the couple will reside in Wake Forest.
