Koster-Hungate


RALEIGH -- Miss Anne Stuart Hungate and Mr. Stephen Frank Koster of Raleigh were married at four o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Rick Clayton performed the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Huddleston of Clayton and Mr. Scott Hungate of Greenville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Sloan of Greenville and Ann Correll and the late Bob Correll of Myrtle Beach, S.C. She graduated from J.H. Rose High School in Greenville and received a bachelor's degree in psychology from North Carolina State University. She is employed at 42nd Street Oyster Bar in Raleigh.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Koster Sr. of Wilson. He is the grandson of the late Joseph F. Koster and Susie D. Koster of Wilson and the late Mr. and Mrs. William B. Simmons III of Courtland, Va. He graduated from James B. Hunt High School and received a bachelor's degree in history from North Carolina State University. He is a manager at 42nd Street Oyster Bar in Raleigh.

The bride was escorted by her father.

Maid of honor was Ashley Strickland of Raleigh.

Bridesmaids were Erin Hungate of Raleigh, sister-in-law of the bride; Ruth Hearn of Raleigh; Maria Verti of Fort Collins, Colo., step-sister of the bride; and Sharla Snider of Raleigh.

Mallory Jenkins of Jacksonville was the flower girl.

The bridegroom's father served as best man.

Groomsmen were John G. Koster Jr. and William C. Koster, both of Wilson, brothers of the bridegroom, and Matt Hungate and Jonathan Hungate, both of Raleigh, brothers of the bride.

Dana P. Boyette and Patrick S. Campbell of Raleigh served as ushers for the wedding.

Ring bearer was John Gray Koster III of Wilson.

Elizabeth Kata was the register attendant.

Program attendant was Krystin Kata.

Wedding music was provided by organist David Witt, soloist Herbert Horton, and trumpeter Paul Randall.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Raleigh Elks Lodge. Hosts were the bride's parents. Music was provided by "The Remedy."

On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Bloomsbury Bistro in Raleigh.

On the day of the wedding, a bridesmaids' tea was given by the bride's parents at the Marriott Crabtree Valley.

The newlyweds reside in Raleigh.

PRE-NUPTIAL EVENTS

* Feb. 22 -- An engagement party was held in Wilson, N.C. Hosts were friends of the bridegroom's family.

* March 1 -- Barb Kata, Krystin Kata and Elizabeth Kata hosted a bridal shower in Greenville.

* March 22 -- A cocktail party was held at Tavola Rossa in Raleigh. Ruth Hearn hosted the event.

* March 30 -- Mr. and Mrs. Derek Sides of Raleigh hosted a "Stock the Bar" party.
