May-Norville
ELM CITY — Jennifer Erin Norville and Michael Wayne May, both of Elm City, were united in marriage May 3 at Elm City Baptist Church. The Rev. Gene Wells officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Norville of Elm City. Her grandparents are Jane W. Jones and the late George Jones of Elm City and Mr. and Mrs. William Norville of Tarboro. The Fike High School graduate received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Barton College. She is a registered nurse at Davita Dialysis.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Scotty Whitley of Elm City and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry May of Black Creek. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Jenkins of Elm City and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dan May. He graduated from Fike High School and is employed in the traffic services department with the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
Escorted by her father, the bride chose for her wedding an elegant white, V-neck gown of matte satin by Jasmine Bridal. The dress was fashioned with a top layer of organza heavily adorned with lace appliques embellished with seed pearls, bugle beads and crystals. The full, detachable chapel train and hemline of the dress was accented with scalloped lace edging.
The bride’s fingertip-length veil, by Giselle Bridal, was accented with satin edging and was custom beaded with pearls and crystals. She carried a bouquet of white bridal roses, pink bridal roses, lavender daisies, small white flowers, caspia and green hypercium berries.
Maid of honor was Jennifer Lynn Whitt of Wilson.
Bridesmaids were Lorie Hester Tyson of Greenville, cousin of the bride, Valerie Anne Bunn of Rock Ridge and Kimberly Alyce Lynch of Macon.
Sarah Nicole Whitley of Wilson, niece of the bridegroom, was junior bridesmaid and flower girl.
The attendants wore bead-embellished spaghetti-strap floor-length gowns in raspberry ice made by Venus Bridals. The stunning chiffon gowns featured elegant beading that accentuated the empire waistlines. They carried a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet with pink bridal roses, lavender daisies and green hypercium berries.
The bridegroom’s father served as best man.
Groomsmen were Clifton Paul Jenkins of Elm City, cousin of the bridegroom; Joey Jenkins Mayo of Elm City, cousin of the bridegroom; and Jay Todd Farmer of Elm City.
Register attendant was Harriet Baker, aunt of the bride.
Program attendant was Lin Jones, uncle of the bride.
Dianne Batts directed the wedding.
The Wedding music was pre-recorded and was played by Lin Jones.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall.
On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was given by the bridegroom’s parents at the Elm City American Legion. A dance, also hosted by the bridegroom’s parents, followed the dinner.
Since their return from a honeymoon in Myrtle Beach, they are living in Wilson.
