Foundation now accepting grant applications By Laura Keeter | Daily Times Staff Writer The board of directors of the Wilson County Community Foundation is now accepting grant requests for community projects from its Community Fund, said D. Stuart Walston Jr., board president. Funds are available for nonprofit organizations that serve general charitable needs in Wilson County. Available funding for 2008 totals $1,590, with requests generally granted in the $500 to $1,000 range. Applications are available at nccommunityfoundation.org (click Affiliates link), the Wilson Chamber of Commerce and the Wilson Public Library. Deadline for submission is Aug. 1. The Wilson County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation. The Community Fund was established to help support local charitable needs through annual grants.
