Steve L. Radford, 57, died June 25, 2008.

Surviving is his wife, Brenda Mullins Radford; daughter, Stacey R. Tant of Wilson; sons, Michael "Tony" Radford (Crystal) of Apex and Roger Radford (Becky) of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren, Kylie, Leah, Thomas, Owen and Sydney.

Wilbur Gray Hawley

Oct. 26, 1932 - June 26, 2008

ELM CITY -- Wilbur Hawley, 75, passed away on Thursday morning at his home.

Wilbur started his life as a farmer, then married and went to work at Purity Bakery, which became Holsum Bakery. When the bakery closed, he went to work at Porritts and Spencer, which is now Voith Fabrics. He retired in 1997.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Josiah "Joe" Hawley and Viola "Vicki" Sewell Hawley Haigood; sister Virginia Lamm; and brothers, Josiah Hawley Jr. "Junior", Earl Hawley, James Hawley, George Hawley, and Bobby Hawley.

Wilbur is survived by his wife of 55 years, Delois "Lois" Hawley; daughter, Lydia Elliott, (Jonas) of Logan, West Virginia, a daughter/granddaughter whom Wilbur and Lois raised as their own, Cynthia Hawley Waters (Adam); sons, Gary Hawley of Raliegh, Scott Hawley (Shawneen) of Wichita, Kansas, and Jeff Hawley of the home; grandchildren, Amanda Elliott, Hannah Elliott, of West Virginia, Megan Hawley, Casandra Vick (James) of Elm City, Crystal Hawley Page of Morehead City NC,; step-grandchildren, Mickey Creel (Rhonda) of Stantonsburg NC., Sarah and Kristofer of Kansas; great-grandchildren that seem like grandchildren, Walker Waters, Tucker Waters, Parker Waters, Alexis Vick, Brianna Vick; two great-grandsons, Ethan and Greyson, and one step great-grandson, Kamron.

Wilbur is also survived by two sisters, Mae Moore (Ed) from Cary, N.C., JoAnne Riggs from Wilton Maine, ; and one brother Kenneth Hawley (Hyon) from Lansing, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. tonight. Funeral services will be held at Thomas Yelverton on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Rusty Russell and the Rev. Gordon Sebastian will be officiating.
