Dean-Brown

WINSTON-SALEM -- Lauren Elizabeth Brown and James Aaron Dean, both of Winston-Salem, exchanged wedding vows June 7 at Centenary United Methodist Church. Dr. Donald Carlton and the Rev. Allen Dean, father of the bridegroom, officiated at the 6 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Tom F. and Janet Brown of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of Barbara Swaim and Eva Anderson, both of Elkin. She graduated from Hunt High School and received a bachelor's degree in communication studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a graduate student at Wake Forest University, working on a Master of Divinity.

The bridegroom is the son of Allen and Dora Dean of Pickerington, Ohio. He is the grandson of Joy Dean of Carey, Ohio, and Dorothy Reese of New Kensington, Pa. He graduated from Capitol High School in Charleston, West Va., and received a bachelor's degree in economics from Wake Forest University. He is a graduate student at Wake Forest University, working on his Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration.

The bride was escorted by her father.

Maid of honor was Megan Kathryn Brown of Greenville, the bride's sister.

Bridesmaids were Melissa Ellen Andrews of Greensboro, April Almond Hill of Raleigh, and Staci Dawn Leonard of Charlotte.

Best man for the ceremony was Christopher Allen Dean of Havelock, brother of the bridegroom.

Groomsmen were Jed Christopher Macosko of Winston-Salem; Lawrence Steven Shelton of Pickerington, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Andrew Robert Trafford of Winston-Salem.

Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride's parents at the Henry F. Shaffner House in Winston-Salem.

On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the bridegroom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Paul's Fine Italian Restaurant in Winston-Salem.

Earlier in the day, a bridesmaids' brunch was held at Midtown Cafe in Winston-Salem. The event was hosted by the bride's mother.

The newlyweds are living in Winston-Salem.
