Eason-Bass

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH -- Barbara Speight Bass of Elm City and Russell "Rusty" J.C. Eason of Wilson exchanged wedding vows May 17 in a beachfront ceremony at Shell Island Resort. The Rev. Terry Leigh Buckner officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Larry and Elizabeth Speight of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of the late Jesse and Nellie Gray Walston and the late Joe and Mildred Speight, all of Elm City. She graduated from Atlantic Christian College, magna cum laude, receiving a bachelor's degree in business administration. She also graduated from the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University. She is employed as a Vice-President and Operations Division Financial Services Manager with BB&T in Wilson.

The bridegroom is the son of Geraldine Manning of Rocky Mount and Russell and Connie Eason of Wilson. He is the grandson of the late J.C. and Gladys Eason of Leggett, the late Betty Ellen Yount and A.B. Manning of Rocky Mount, and the late Fannie Skinner of Wilson. He graduated from Hunt High School and received a degree in engineering and drafting from Wilson Technical Community College. He is employed at S.T. Wooten Corporation in Wilson.

The bride was escorted by her nephew, Joshua Webb of Elm City.

Matron of honor was Beverly Speight Webb of Elm City, sister of the bride.

Alyssa Cockrell of Rocky Mount and Alaina Stone of Wilson, nieces of the bridegroom, served as flower girls for the ceremony.

The bridegroom's father served as best man.

Following the ceremony, the bridal couple hosted a reception at The Bluewater in Wrightsville Beach.

On the eve of the wedding, family and friends attended a rehearsal party at Shell Island Resort.

Various family members hosted events throughout the wedding weekend at Shell Island Resort.

Since returning from a honeymoon in Florida, the Easons are living in Elm City.
