The bride is the daughter of Gail Moye Deans of Wilson and the late Shelton Deans. She is the granddaughter of Cindy Moye of Walstonburg and the late Douglas Moye, and the late Guy and Lessie Deans of Wilson. She graduated from James B. Hunt High School and received her degree in early childhood education from Wilson Technical Community College. She is employed by Wilson Urology as a receptionist.
The bridegroom is the son of Karen and Gary Lucas of Lucama and Billy and Nancy Etheridge of Wilson. He is the grandson of Marie Shealy and the late John Shealy of Wilson, and Wiley and Sara Etheridge of Wilson.
Escorted by her mother, the bride chose for her wedding a satin princess line gown featuring white spaghetti straps, beaded Schiffli lace and a semi-cathedral train.
Her elbow-length, sheer veil featured a seed pearl trim.
She carried a silk cascading bouquet of green roses and yellow and white wildflowers.
Maid of honor was Erin Taylor of Wilson.
Lindsey White of Elm City, sister of the bride, was matron of honor.
Bridesmaid was Amy Wiggins of Wilson, cousin of the bride.
The attendants wore green and white strapless sundresses with flip-flops.
The groom's father served as best man.
Groomsmen were John Thomas Etheridge of Lucama, brother of the groom, and Gary Lucas of Lucama, stepfather of the groom.
Nelson Deans, the bride's brother, was register attendant.
Program attendant was Sara Deans, the bride's sister-in-law.
Following the ceremony, a reception took place at Memories Beach Club at Atlantic Beach. The couples' parents hosted the event.
On the eve of the ceremony, the mother and stepfather of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Watermark Restaurant at Atlantic Beach.
On the morning of the wedding, a bridal breakfast was given by Joy Cobb and Shirley Parker in Emerald Isle.
Since returning from their honeymoon to Kure Beach, the couple resides in Wilson.
