Well, not exactly, but Post 13 has made a name for itself this season, defeating Pitt County Post 160 12-7 Saturday in Fleming Stadium for its fifth consecutive win.
Sunday's scheduled game was cancelled after North Raleigh informed Wilson head coach Rusty Dail it wouldn't have enough players to field a team.
Post 13 sits at 16-3 overall and remains in first place in the Area One East Division, North Conference at 6-1. Wilson split two games against conference foe Rocky Mount this season and would finish in second place if the two teams win the remainder of their league games, according to Dail.
"If we both win out, Rocky Mount wins on run differential," Dail said. "We're just going to play it out and try to take care of business and let the chips fall where they may."
Post 13 concludes conference play Tuesday evening in Fleming Stadium against Tarboro then has three more non-conference games through Sunday.
Aside from one ugly inning , Wilson continued its dominance against Pitt Post 160 Saturday night.
Jacob Davis, David Gibbons and Chris Johnson each had three hits and catcher Zac Crumpler doubled and drew four walks. Post 13 battered Pitt's pitchers for 16 hits on the night. Wilson had plenty more chances to score but left 13 men on base.
Gibbons, a self-proclaimed 'dead pull hitter', said Dail has helped the team focus on spraying the ball to all parts of the field.
"Coach Dail spends a lot of time getting us to hit backside in batting practice," Gibbons explained. "The whole team is taking that approach and it's helping us, no doubt."
Bentley Massey (2-1) struck out three over six innings for the win. He allowed one unearned run. The relief trio of Kyle Shields, Mitchell Wheeler and Justin Nyard finished the game.
Post 13 led 9-1 through seven inning before Post 160 scored six unearned runs on six Wilson errors in the seventh to make it 9-1.
Post 13 gave itself some breathing room with three runs in the bottom half of the frame.
"We played well and did what we needed to do get out on top 9-1," Dail said. "We had some errors and had a little letdown there, but I'm pleased with the way we've been playing the last three games."
Wilson has made a complete turnaround from last season when it finished 15-11 and lost to Post 160 in the first round of the playoffs.
Post 13 has just four regular-season games remaining and the final three are out of conference.
"We just want to work on getting better, hope nobody gets hurt and try to set up our pitching for the playoffs," Gibbons said.
Massey said last year's early exit is something the team wants to forget.
"I feel like this year's been a lot better," he said. "We're winning a lot more and we just want to come out with a winning atttirude and play like we know we can."
Nygard (4-0) will get the start Tuesday against Tarboro.
