The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Nelson Deans and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest F. Winborne and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lemon C. Deans Sr. She graduated from Hunt High School and received a bachelor's degree in industrial relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master's degree in education from East Carolina University. She has her National Board Certification and is employed by the Nash-Rocky Mount School System.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Michael Prickett Sr. of Arkansas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Grady Prickett of Wilmington, Del., and Mr. and Mrs. David Chitwood of Stockbridge, Ga. He graduated from Leto High School in Tampa, Fla., and received a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a bio-medical field service engineer.
Escorted by her father, the bride chose for her wedding a formal gown of ivory Italian satin and schiffli lace. The timeless strapless design featured a sweetheart neckline enhanced with a delicate lace overlaid with pearls and bugle beads. The fitted bodice boasted a basque waist encircled in beaded lace and extended into a full gathered ball skirt. The skirt was adorned with garlands of beaded lace and floral motifs, bordered by wide scalloped schiffli lace. The dramatic cathedral train was embellished with lace cascading from waist to hem.
She wore a single strand of pearls belonging to her aunt.
She wore a delicate tiara of clustered seed pearls and crystals paired with a fingertip, single tier veil of ivory illusion edged with bugle beads and pearls. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white tulips with green hypericum berries.
Lorrie Etta Wright of Wilson was maid of honor.
Matron of honor was Amy Andrews Hoogervorst of Chapel Hill.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Daniel Boughman of Fayetteville, Jacquelyn Fulghum Langston of Winterville and Lori Samsel Wallace of Washington. They wore satin, floor-length gowns in robin's egg blue. The mock two-piece gowns featured a strapless cuffed bodice, curved waist line and a modified A-line skirt.
Honorary bridesmaids were Shannon High Armstrong of Morgantown, W. Va., Lisa Howell Langley of Rocky Mount, and Krista Fulghum Potter of Wilson.
Nelson Brady Grantham of Kenly served as best man.
Groomsmen were Lawrence Nelson Deans of Wilson, brother of the bride; Nelson Ryan Deans of Wilson, nephew of the bride; Randall Edward Deans of Kenly, brother of the bride; and Fenner Andrew Wallace of Washington.
Register attendant was Kimberly Lucas Deans, sister-in-law of the bride.
Angela Marie Dail was program attendant.
Agnes Cherry and Susan Jones directed the wedding.
Wedding music was provided by organist Joan Brownd Gibbs and soloists Leigh Ann Johnson Thorne and Susan Wall Perry.
After the ceremony, a reception was held at Willow Springs Country Club.
On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner and dance was held at the Elks Lodge. Earlier in the day, Kathy Driver hosted a bridesmaids' luncheon at her home.
The couple is living in Wilson.
