Wilson was victimized by seven errors in its attempt to overtake a North Durham squad which had allowed just one run in five previous games.
Jaelynn Melton again led Wilson at the plate with a 2-for-3 showing that included a triple. Also banging out two hits were Kennedy Hearndon, who doubled, along with Austin Worley and Christian Wilson. Worley drove in run.
It was the second straight District 6 8-under crown for North Durham while Wilson was making its first appearance in a District 6 final at any age group.
Three more Wilson City Little League teams will have chances to match the 8-under squad's feat this weekend in district tournament play.
The 10-under District 6 tournament begins Saturday in Clayton while the 12-under team begins District 6 tournament play Saturday in Wilmington.
The 11-under District 6 tourney gets underway Monday at Toisnot.
