Wilson resident named to identity theft board

Jim Resmer, manager of the Wilson-based BB&T Liability Risk Management, has been appointed to the Identity Theft Assistance Center's board of directors.

ITAC is a nonprofit agency supported by BB&T and other financial services companies to help victims and to share information with law enforcement to catch and convict criminals. The organization is based in Washington, D.C.

Since 2004, ITAC has helped nearly 35,000 consumers restore their financial identities.

"Jim brings new and creative thinking to ITAC, which we need to provide leadership in the fight against identity theft," said Anne Wallace, ITAC president.
