Mudcats, Suns rained out Monday in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Carolina Mudcats' series-opening game against the Jacksonville Suns was postponed by rain Monday night.

The Double-A Southern League teams will make up the game as part of a doubleheader with a pair of seven-inning games Wednesday beginning at 6:05 p.m.

The teams will again attempt to get the series started today at 12:05 p.m.

The Mudcats made a series of transactions before the rainout.

Outfielder John Raynor was recalled from Low-A Greensboro and infielder Lee Mitchell was activated from the disabled list.

To make room for the two, pitcher Chris Michalak was promoted to Triple-A Albuquerque (N.M.) and outfielder Bryan Peterson was sent back to Greensboro.
